Our Place/Chez Nous

Our Place/Chez Nous Drop-In Centre is located at the corner of Main Street and Higgins Avenue, where the crush of human poverty, suffering, homelessness and brokenness co-exist. St. Charles parishioners stand as a light in the midst of this darkness.

Through their generosity and love, parishioners provide a cornerstone of support to the life of the drop-in centre. Ongoing weekly donations of food, baking, clothing, toiletries, financial offerings and prayers are the main expressions through which parishioners actively partner in serving the poorest of the poor in Winnipeg.

Our Place/Chez Nous is dependent upon donations received and volunteers from churches throughout Winnipeg. No one is paid, all are volunteers.

Every year the clients who use the drop-in centre are treated to a barbecue and beach day.  In December they have a Christmas party - an extra special dinner, live musical entertainment, a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause and receive a small gift.

Currently, St. Charles Parish provides 30% of the volunteers at the drop-in centre. If you would like to help in some way you can contact Deacon Claude Lambert at 204-832-1338.
