Welcome to Faith Formation at St. Charles Parish
At St. Charles Parish, we are honoured to partner with families in nurturing the faith of their children. Our Religious Education programs help children grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ while preparing for the sacraments and participating in the life of the Church.
Registration Notice:
Enrollment in our First Communion and Confirmation preparation programs is limited to 15 participants per sacrament due to the availability of volunteer catechists and educators. Priority registration is given to registered St. Charles Parish families, followed by students attending St. Charles Catholic School who are not parishioners of St. Charles Parish. Early registration is encouraged.
🌿 Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (Kindergarten to Grade 1)
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a faith formation program rooted in Scripture, Liturgy, and the Montessori method of learning. Through prayer, reflection, and hands-on materials in a specially prepared environment called the Atrium, children are invited to discover God's love and develop a personal relationship with Jesus.
Classes are held Sundays from October to May, 10:35 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., except on the second Sunday of each month. (Schedule subject to change)
📖 Home-Based Catechism (Grades 3 to 7)
Students in Grades 3 to 7 participate in a home-based faith formation program using the Word of Life curriculum. Parents guide their children's faith learning through lessons and activities completed at home.
No in-person classes are offered for Grades 3 to 7.
✨ Sacrament of First Communion (Grade 2 and Up)
Children in Grade 2 and up are invited to prepare for First Communion through our parish sacramental preparation program, where they learn about the Eucharist, the Mass, and receiving Jesus in Holy Communion.
Classes are held every other Sunday from October to May, 10:35 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. (Schedule subject to change)
🕊️ Sacrament of Confirmation (Grade 8)
Confirmation preparation helps young people deepen their faith and receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit as they continue their journey as active members of the Catholic Church.
Classes are held on the Third Sunday of each month from October to May, 10:35 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. (Schedule subject to change)
